How to choose between n8n, Dify, Coze, and Make

Use task type, team technical ability, hosting cost, and data sensitivity to choose an automation platform.

About 6 minutes

Start with whether the task is an AI application

If the core task is knowledge-base Q&A or LLM orchestration, Dify is often more direct. If the task connects SaaS tools, webhooks, and schedules, n8n or Make usually fits better.

Then check whether your team can maintain self-hosting

Self-hosted n8n is flexible but requires server maintenance. Make is friendlier for no-code teams, while Coze works well for bot entry points and lightweight agent flows.

Always check credentials before importing templates

A template is only the workflow structure. Running it depends on API keys, webhooks, field mapping, quota, and the current platform version.
